As a rule of thumb for nitrocellulose lacquers, apply 3 coats over a 30 minute period, then leave to dry for about 6 hours, or overnight. It accepts any Behlen waterborne or solvent base stain or finish. Do not scuff through to bare wood. The paint may wrinkle or lift when resprayed during this curing period. Use some soapy water to lube it up. On the other end, pay close attention to the time the product must dry before applying paint over it. Allow overnight dry time if using solvent base stains and finishes. With proper application under normal conditions, Claw-Glaze will dry ready for sanding with wet or dry sandpaper in 15-20 minutes at 70°F. Cellulose Sanding Sealer is very quick drying, usually touch dry in 30 seconds and ready to be sanded within five minutes, making it ideal for a quick, easy yet professional base for your finishing. Let dry and then buff. Several newer papers are available which are worth trying. Surface Prep. On the sample pieces I have tried wet sanding the two week old finish. Try wet sanding rattle can primer the day after spraying and it will still clog sand paper.
